Displaced Window.

Hi,

When I open a file, the window is displaced to the right. There is about
one inch of space on the left, and about the same (I suppose) missing on the
right, including the scroll bar, maximize button etc. I can maximize the
window by right-clicking its button in the taskbar, but the fault returns
when I open another window.

I would appreciate any help to correct this, and any suggestions re what I
may have done to cause it!

In the dispay applet, verify that the proper monitor has been selected
or that the proper monitor.ini file has been installed. In addition,
check that the refresh rate, resolution and color depth settings are
optimized for the particular monitor according to its specifications.

Thanks "GHalleck".

Nothing seems to have changed re the items you list. The effect I described
is the only problem. The display is OK.

Open such a window.
Move it to where you want it.
Close it.
Now try opening it again.

Open just one window, right-click the Taskbar, click "Cascade windows".
That should resize the window so you can get at the sides.

Hi Elmo (Joe),

It worked! tho' it wasn't permanent until I locked the Taskbar.

Many thanks.

Thanks Frank, but the problem was I didn't know how to move the window......
I still don't, but Elmo's suggestion fixed the problem.

I appreciate your response.

I don't see Elmo's suggestion, but to move a window put the mouse on the top
(Title) bar, hold down the left button and move the mouse to drag the
window.

Thanks again Frank. That's probably what I did in the first place,
unwittingly, to cause the problem!

Andy I. BTW, this was Elmo's suggestion:

"Open just one window, right-click the Taskbar, click "Cascade windows".
That should resize the window so you can get at the sides."
