You failed to post your Outlook version. Only Outlook 2002 and higher have
this feature.

Hi - Ok - first time EVER in this ginormous circuitry here - and newbie is an
understatement. I am scared this is answered somewhere, but I don't know
where and have been trying to look through this section of posts on
"contacts" but I can't get the browser separater between the "messages" and
the "headers" and "threads" on the left of it moved to the right , so I can
read the headers to see what they are (??)

I can only see the first 2 - 3 words ... anyway - my question is the
opposite of this one below I am replying to:

Maybe you can help, Mr. Valentine?

First off - before I go ticking people off - I see no corresponding
"Community Newsgroup" specific to OExpress (?) and that's what my question is
on - so again - SORRY - if I am in the wrong place will you point me where to
post this?

I have OE 6 SP2 brand new loaded on a new laptop.
When I go to "compose" a message, I type a name in the address field, and
the name "autocompletes" as I am accustomed to it doing in my past experience
of OE 6 on the last laptop I had. (my address book has been imported - no
problems)

However, it will display the name, but not pick up the address.
So, I will hit "send" and it will give me an error box, and require me to
then open the address book and select the name to add to the "to" field in
order to then send it.

Now, this problem must be bugging me pretty dern bad to actually have been
looking for an answer to the tune of registering on this site and looking to
find the answer here. (NO OFFENSE) just highly UNFAMILIAR and scared of this
medium.

So, as Bill O'Reilley says: "what say you" Mr. Valentine?
Or - in the very REAL event that Mr. Valentine is no longer even alive,
seeing as this post I am piggy-backing onto here is from 6 months ago - "what
say you" ANYONE who finds it buried here in the legions of messages, in the
legions of sub-groups, in the legions communities.... : )

Your assistance is APPRECIATED MUCHO.

As you suspected you are posting in the wrong group, but that's hardly your
fault. Microsoft went out of its way to confuse users by creating two
completely different programs with the same name and by hiding the Outlook
Express groups where no one could find them.
This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

A good website for information on OE is:
