Using XP Home Edition.
This just started happening on a 2+ year-old desktop. When I put a
formattted diskette with data on it into the A drive, I get a message
stating that the diskette is not formatted, and would I like to format it.
The same thing happens when I attach a jump drive to a USB port. I copied
some files to a CD. When I opened the CD drive in Expolrer, it did not show
any files on the CD.
All three devices (diskete with data, jump drive with data, and CD with the
files I copied to it, when loaded on my laptop worked properly!
Altough I did not try to copy files to either the diskette or the jump drive
and since the CD copy worked properly, I am assuming that the diskette drive
and the jump drive would copy files should I do that. Also, when looking at
the desktop System - whatever it is- on the control panel, it indicated that
the diskette dirve driver etc., were ok.
So, what is going on wiht my system? Any ideas?
