Is anyone using Diskeeper 6.0 with WinXP? -- We've been a little afraid to
try it, for fear there might be some small difference between Win2000 and XP
that might make us regret it. We have an unused copy of 6.0, and don't
really want to buy a later version unless necessary. The truth is, most XP
users use the built-in defrag function, but I'd like to see if Diskeeper is
much of an improvement.

Thanks.

Leon

Diskeeper 8 Pro on my XP Pro works fine, defragments whenever it's required
to.....easy to set-up and run...... Colin.

Anything is an improvement over the built in defragmenter of XP,
however, whether or not Diskeeper 6.0 is compatible - is a question
you need to ask of Executive Software. Go to their website and ask.

I do not know about version 6, but I can definitely say that both versions 7
and 8 work fine on XP. Version 8 is only needed if you have really big
disks, up to 512 Gig or so. Verision 7 works fine on 120 Gig disks, but I
do not know how much larger it can handle.

The Readme with version 7.0 suggests that it is an extension of
facilities over version 6, without any major change of methods. So I
would expect version 6 to work - but make a restore point and backup
before trying just in case
