On my Vista Business laptop (a Thinkpad X60s) the harddrive always work.
It's constant.
Even when i do nothing on my PC.
It uses appr. 0.98 GB on idle, and CPU appr. 5-10 %.

Because of this my battery life sucks in Vista.

I have 1.5 GB memory, all the newest (certified) drivers from Lenovo.com.
Clean install.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

It's indexing the drive. You can turn it off, but I'd let it do it's job.
After it indexes for the first time, the drive activity stops. I'd leave it
plugged in and running all night, and by morning, you'll be great.

Hi,

No I'm 100% sure it's not indexing anymore. I've had my PC now for almost 2
weeks, and I use it all day. It also stays on during the night many times.
So it should be finished with indexing.

Go to the Task Manager, Performance, Resource Monitor, click on "Disk" at
the bottom, and it will show you what it accessing the disk. Find what is
using the most, and that is probably the culprit.
