In My Computer Right click on Local C' Drive then click
properties at the bottom there are 2 places for check-
marks
Compress drive to save disk
or
Alow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file
finding.
Which choice should the check-mark be in or should it
be both

Don't check the "compress" option for your primary drive. Allowing indexing
service is supposed to make searches faster, check it if you want.

What affect on system performance might your advice regarding the Indexing Service have if implemented?

If you compress a file, each time it is opened it has to be expanded. That
takes time and resources. Would you want to do that with your operating
system? Individual files can be compressed, if you seldom use them. All of
this, except for the OS, depends on your own needs and disk space. Even with
personal files, if you have, for example, an 80 Gig hard drive and are only
using 20 Gig's of it, why slow down the operation by compression?
