Hello,
having problem with windows 2000 adv server, i;m student
and learing server, problem is i'm running out of space.
i have 9 gb harddrive nothing installed other then
operating system, but i only has .635 mb left .. i when i
cheked winnt folder it was taking more then 4.5 GB of
space . as far as i know i dont think operating sys should
take more then that

what i think is when i updated wid mirosoft i should have
made backup files and saved it some where in winnt folder.
i check all temp dir nothing there ..was wondering if u
know what is the location for those files so i can delete
them ..or is it something else

thanks

raman

Typically, information to "uninstall" updates is stored in the files under
the system root as follows:

%SystemRoot%\$NTUninstallXXXXXX$\ where XXXXXX is either a kb article number
or a service pack.

I would check to see what folders are using up a lot of space before
deciding on what to delete.

In Explorer try doing a search for all files ( * ), and when it is
done click on 'size' twice. This will sort by size and put all the
largest files at the top. See if you have any really large dump or
cab files or something you don't need.
