disk space problem !

Hi, I'm facing a strange problem on my Windows Xp Home Edition. My hard disk
space are 20 GB and using 17 GB disk space but when I delete any file or
uninstall any games, programs, does not free up disk space any. I have
deleted 1 GB files but does not effect. I have scanned with norton antivirus
2003 pro but not found any virus. Does anyone help me ? Thanks...

I assume you have emptied your recycle bin. Try turning off the system
restore in system properties, reboot then enable it again and see what your
disk space situation is then.
