disk space loss

What would cause my HD to lose space without installing
anything? I went from 65 gigs free to 59.1 free within a
month. I even removed some programs and the space is
still being eaten up. How can I fix this??
 
Could it be XP's pagefile (swap file) ?
Could it be XP's built-in feature of Prefetching ? (look in
C:\Windows\Prefetch)
Is your hd formatted as NTFS ?
