disc sata on slide removable, can it remove at hot (swap hot?)?

depending software (win xp is possible) or is only hardware's problem?

Its both, the hardware needs to support it too. Not all removable
drive bays do the sata connections the way they need to be done
for hot swap, most obviously if the molex power connector is used.
