Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude notebook. Everything hunky dory until a few days ago: when i try to boot up i get a
Disk Read Error
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot
Of course, when i do that i get the same error.
So i boot with my Win XP CD and i get to the repair console. Using some investigating i learn that Fixboot & fixmbr are the way to go, but i don't want to lose my data!
Is there any way i can be sure to recover my OS & data via the Repair console commands? The drive doesn't really sound funny, and i ran CHKDSK /R which allowed me to get to the WinXp startup screen (with the white bar along the bottom) but it never completed loading...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
