I used to use a DOS partitioning program to change partition sizes. Is
there any way to change partitions when using XP?

My Laptop came with a very small C-partition which I enlarged when I had
Win98 installed. Now I'd like to change it again but have XP installed.

Thanx.

You have several options, none of which are included with XP by default. With the built in tools you can delete and create partitions but you cannot resize existing partitions without losing data. To do that I use Bootit NG from www.bootitng.com. Another popular choice is Partition Magic from www.powerquest.com.

Hi, unless you want to reinstall Windows XP you will want to use a program
like Partition Magic.

You will need a third party repartitioning tool if you want to resize your
partition(s) non-destructively. If your partitions are still FAT then you
can use the DOS program you formerly used. However if XP is on an NTFS
formatted partition you will need to use an app that can read NTFS. BootIt
NG is a good choice http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/

You could also:

start > run > mmc > add the "Computer management" addon >
when ur back to the main screen, click "disk management"
right click on the free space, and use the partition
wizard
