System:

HP 2.6 Pent IV PC
Win XP
CD-RW
DVD ROM
2 HDD's

Problem:

I am using this system in a networked office environment
and need access to the drive letter F:\ for a poprietary
application. Out of the box, this pc assignes the F:\
drive to the DVD-ROM drive. I have used the disk
management snap in to change the DVD-ROM's drive letter
from F:\ to R:\, but after a reboot the DVD-ROM drive
letter changes back to F:\. I need the change I am making
in the disk management snap in to 'stick'.

Has anyone run across this before and know of a possible
cause / solution to this problem?

Thank you.

Make sure you make the change as an "Administrator" and it should stay that
way.
