Hi,

Can anyone recommend disk imaging software ? We are expecting a batch of new
workstations soon and I don't want to building them all individually.

Cheers,
Chris.

I have used Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost, and Bootitng. They all would
be suitable. Make sure you are aware of the duplicate SID and computer name
issues if all the workstations will be on the same network. Depending which
imaging program you use there are various methods to create unique SIDs and
computer names.

First, you have two choices when it comes to a "batch" of computers:

1) Either use Volume Licensing for ALL Windows Apps
2) Install everything and then SYSPREP it

With a Volume License you can Ghost an Image and then restore it to many
machines across the network (using a ghost network boot disk) and they
will come up perfectly.

If you don't have a volume license, then you'll have to SYSPREP so that
you can activate properly or you will be in violation of the licensing
agreement.
