I just bought a new 120 GB external hard drive today in
order to back up my two-month old 60 GB laptop and in
order to work more securely and easily with video files.
I tried to shift my existing video files today from my
c:/drive to the external drive (e:/). Several of the
files savedd to teh e:/ drive just fine. But there is a
pesky 4.3 GB .avi file that is causing a "disk full"
error , which is certainly not the case. I have only
placed 7 GB on this 120 GB drive.

PLEASE HELP

My bet is that the new drive is formatted as FAT32 while the old drive is
NTFS. FAT32 has a max single file size limit of $GB, while NTFS doesnt. So
when you try to copy a file that is >4GB between the two drives it will
fail.

Hi;
Concur: Most likely (99+/- %) met with the 2GBs file size limit of a FAT32
formatted drive.
