disk failure after partition magic resize

I tried to rezise a partitioned 20G hd with partition magic 6. Right
on the final steps of the loooong procedure, PM6 raised a message #50,
i guess, and crashed. The drive is no longer recognized by windows and
many recovery tools i´ve tried reports a sector 0 read failure. Fdisk
can see it but with no partitions. I need baddly the data there, so
i´m avoiding fdisk and coming here in the hope someone could help me.

And? A sector 0 read failure does not prevent recovery at all?

Error #50: Read fault?
If so it seems that sector 0 (the MBR) is in use by the BIOS virus watch...
Turn it off, run PM from the rescue disks...is it sees as an PQRP partition
as the process did not complete?

If it is in PQRP state follow the instruction to restore the partition's
previous state:

Svend I´ve used your tools (thanx) to see the disk internals. It shows
F6 in the biginning of the MBR then a few '05' and '83' id's
partitions tells that there were some sectors the could no be read and
only quits after a ctrl break.

I was quite tired and in a hurry when I first posted here. I had a job
to deliver that day but, finally, I contacted the client and told him
I wouldn´t make it. I´m released now, he might be not ;) and will try
to better clarify my case: (i still have to deliver that job, though)

That is (was?) my secondary drive.
I had it split in 10gb fat32 and 10gb linux partitions.

I needed space in the middle of a job and decided to put the linux
partition away. Tried PM6 but it reported an 'unrecognized file type',
so I went to linux installation, partition step, and deleted them.
Restarted, got back to PM6 and resized the fat32 partition left to
take the whole disk.

The process went all through well until the very (dead) end, PM6
reported a #50 error and closed. There is no PQRP partition like
someone else suggested. I was using a antivirus but virus protection
was disabled in BIOS.

PM6 don´t load anymore, error #100.
Some recovery tools can´t see the disk, fail to get the HD parameters.
Some report too many read errors, including in sector 0. FindFat found
no fat after hours running.

Any thing I can do before taking it to a recovery specialist (don´t
think we have many in our area). I have backup of almost 80% of the
data but the 20% left is so important... The disk is full of
photographs (this is what I do for living) if a miss it, they´re gone
forever!

You can do using my Findpart utility:

findpart tables fp.txt

and mail me the file fp.txt, no matter what it shows or not shows.
Then I will consider what I can suggest.

This is only a partition table printout, since there may be bad
sectors.
