Tried to use Disk Defragmenter but it disappeared from the System Tools
folder of Accessories. I just installed Service Pack 2. Could this be the
reason?

Go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:Defrag C:
To get another icon,go to tools,R.click on it,select, open,in the new window
R.click on any space, select new short-cut,in the location field window, type:
C:WINDOWS\system32\defrag.exe

It didn't work either way. the first option gave information on the hard
drive but nothing was executed. The shortcut just produced a quick blip but
nothing happened.

Start, search, for files or folders.
Search for defrag.exe.
When you find it (mine is C:\win\system32 folder) right click defrag.exe and
drag to the desktop and save it as a shortcut.

Oops!! Sorry, didn't test it.
system files work differently I guess.

Right click the icon and select properties.
Change "Targe"t to %SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc
That made mine work ok.

Thanks Gene, it works. Now, I remember that System Tools had more items than
I have now. One that comes to mind is Disk Analyzer. Was there?
