I am running XP Home and have installed a new hard drive.
I have my old drive attached via a PCI card.

About every 3rd or 4th time I reboot I get a blue screen.
The message tells me that the drive on (F:), that is the
one on the PCI card, needs to be checked for consistency.
This is a 5 step process, I have let in run about 4 times.
But now I stop it before it starts, I have 10 seconds to
stop the action before it begins.
What can I do to stop this from running?

BTW...The drive also has XP on it, but it is a slave so I
never get a choice of which OS to boot.

XP should only really be installed on the booting drive. The slave drive
should only have been formated (FAT32 or NTFS).

As for the PCI add in card, please make sure that you are using the latest
firmware update for the card and that you are seing the latest XP drivers
for the card.

As for dual-boot, if the drive would have been on the same IDE cable as the
XP boot disk, it may have created an entry in the boot loader. Now you will
have to look for info on how to add the PCI IDE drive to the boot loader.

Y.
