Disk Cleanup

Can anyone tell me why my "Disk Cleanup" doesn't function anymore. Up untill 2 days ago, it worked fine, then it would lock up on "Compress old Files", and now when I click in it nothing at all happens. I've even tried going through system tools, but without any luck. I haven't added any new software/hardwear, and my antivirus program is always up to date.
Any help would be appreciated.
 
I am having the same problem with disk clean up. Same situation anti-virus is up to date, Windows updates are up to date. There is no documentation in the knowledge base and I have been unable to find written material that covers the disk clean up's startup

ASIDE: At the same time, Windows Media Player is not finishing copying the last track from a CD to my MP3 Player. Both of these started a couple of days ago.
 
having same problem, in disk cleanup
compressing froze, and cleanup does not work now.
