CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

WHEN I RUN DISC CLEANUP ON C: IT SAYS IT'S WORKING BUT
NOTHING HAPPENS.WHEN I GO INTO TASK MANAGER 24 HOURS LATER
I STILL HAVE THE SAME SCREEN WITH DISK CLEANUP WITH ABOUT
3 OR 4 PROGRESS BARS.

Kevin,

If disk cleanup hangs when it's "Calculating compressed files," perform the
steps listed below:

1. Open Regedt32.exe
2. Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{B50F5260-0C21-11D2-AB56-00A0C9082
678}

Deleting this key eliminates the scanning for compressed files.

My W2K pro machine does not have this problem, But my XP machine does, I
assume that the same fix would work on there but would like to check before
I raise hell in the registry any advice would be gratefully received
