When I try to use disk cleanup, nothing happens! I don't mean that it comes up and freezes or takes a long time. I mean nothing at all happens. It's like it isn't even there.
Any help ???????????

Try either re-booting into safe mode, then run disk
cleanup, or select that " last know good configuration"
option, from that advanced options menu.
Try the system file checker tool. Click start, run, and
type in this here; "sfc /scannow" with that space after
the sfc. It will ask for your XP CD to copy any needed
files from, and it runs as Windows file Protection. If
you don't have a XP CD, try to borrow one from someone. I
believe you can also run this in a command prompt window
as well.

Thanks a lot, Jim. I still can't compess my files, but at least part of it works now.
Again thank you so much for your help.
