Disk cleaner--XP pro

When I attempt to use disk cleaner on my HP with XP Pro,
the working graph appears as if it is 5-10% complete. It
then just stays stationary and does not do anything at
all. I want to do a disk cleanup and defrag. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. My HP came with Win 98 2nd
edition and was upgraded.

Hi Rick,

If Disk Cleanup stops responding at "Scanning: Compress old files", follow
the instructions in this MSKB article to resolve the problem:
