Linda

I have recently started using the disk doctor at start
up. I checked it to diagnose and repair at start up.
Since then I have had the same 2 errors, I choose to send
the error report but when I check the log file on the
crash site, I do not have any logs there!!! I know I have
sent it daily for about 5 days now, why isn't it there
does anyone know?? but my main concern is the errros
themselves
C/windows/mini dump/mini 20503-01dmp
C/documents/1/Linda1/Local
Temp.WER1Temp/dir00/sysdata.xmlDoes anyone know what this
is and how to fix it? I am a novice so please ignore my
ignorance!!Thanks, Linda

Linda;
It's C:\windows\Minidump

Try openening drwtsn32.log to see what the Doc has to say.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\drwtsn32.log

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp
============
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
This is the Event Viewer. Any thing in there?

I was able to open up the event viewer, I see the errors
every time disk doctor was used, the explanation is:
Application- the desription for event ID (1000) in source
( Norton Disk Doctor) cannot be found. Local computer may
not have the necessary registry information or message
DLL file to display messages from a remote computer.
I also notice that along with the exclamation flag the
user is N/A.on this event, all other events have either
my name or the word system is this the way it's supposed
to be?? I hope this answers your question.Thanks for your
help
Linda

From another post.

[The same thing happens to me. {Norton Disk Doctor reports a security descriptor problem on my NTFS
C: drive.} I think it is a Norton problem so I am no longer user Disk Doctor. I have found Norton
Utilities to be essentially useless under NTFS. I am still using Norton Anti-Virus and
Norton Ghost but nothing else from Norton.]

With the Event ID 1000 error MS wants you to do a repair install. I did this for an Event ID 1000
error and didn't fix anything for me.
What same two errors are you getting? Event ID 1000 and 1001?

The two errors are C/Windows/mini dump/mini 20503-01 dmp
and
C/documents/~1/Linda1/Local Temp.WER1/temp dir
00/sysdata.xml This is all I have to give you. If it is
only a Norton problem, and really doesn't mean anything
that is okay with me, I just needed to find out if there
was something wrong with my windows program and how to
fix it if I needed to. Thanks,
Linda

Linda;
If you have no intention of debugging these mini dumps, which you can't do without a debugging
program anyway. Delete: mini 20503-01 dmp and sysdata.xml. Or better yet,
Start Disk Cleanup, click Start, click Run, and then type cleanmgr
Remove temporary Internet files.
Remove Windows temporary files.
With both of these gone, you shouldn't receive any errors.
