My disc cleanup doesn't work anymore. Anyone else have this problem. It just sits there for hours and won't work. Thanks

Yes! My Disk clean-up will not work on Volume C - the progress bar is
permanently stuck at 3 blips, saying "compress old files". It's
"cleanmgr.exe" uses 100% of CPU, even after cancelling Disk clean-up, and
until I end the task with Taskmanager. Same result leaving it running 12
hours overnight.
I'd like to know what causes this, too. I now use a little freeware program
called "Disk Cleaner" which does the same job and is very good.
