Disk checking FAT32 Disk serial #0c0c-F79C

[frustrated]

Every time my computer is restarted, or even goes
into 'sleep'mode, I get this message, and it then goes
through the lengthy process of 'disk checking', unless I
cancel it. What is causing this????
