I have booted from my XP CD, gone through set-up and
overwritten my original installation. But, when it
restarts after set up, and I set it back to boot from my
hard drive, I still get same error?

Could it be to do with the set up of my hardware? The
hard drive was working fine with my previous mobo. I know
I will need to install new drivers but I can't even get
that far to install.

Any help is much appreciated...

You might have a problem with your MBR (Master Boot Record).
AFAIR, there is a "fixmbr" command available under the
Command Console. While at it, you should also execute
"fixboot".

The one to select the boot order as:floppy, hard drive or cd rom.You can
choose any order just making the one you want first. After making the changes
it should ask if you want to save them.
