Hi all. I have a few pc that is join to domain. However recently our domain
controller(windows nt4.0 server) is down due to physical fault. All our pc
can still logon to domain even though domain controller is not up. However i
would like to know if it is possible to disjoin pc from domain even though
the dc is not available? Because when you try to disjoin a pc from domain it
will prompt for domain administrator username and password. Thks in advance.

That is because they're using cached credentials.

Cached domain logon information

This is possible if the domain administrative user has already logged
in to the workstation, thus creating cached credentials. Otherwise, I
don't know.
