Anna

I created a discussion web using FP02 and I would like to
edit the properties. Right now, the only field I have in
the article submission page is Subject. I would like to
add a From field. I went to Form Properties, when I have
Send to Other selected with Discussion Form Handler
specified as the location. I clicked Options and under
Form Fields I put a space after Subject and then typed
From. I then hit ok and nothing happens to my page. Is
there something else I need to do?? Any help would be
greatly appreciated!

The FP discussion web can not be use with Send to Other, it has to be
processed by the FP Discussion Handler. You are limited to the options
available in the Discussion Form properties dialog.

I have "Micrsoft Frontpage Version 2002 Inside Out" by:
Jim Buyens and it explains how to do this and it says "In
the Form Properties dialog box, Send To Other should be
selected and the Discussion Form Handler should be
speicfied as the location." Then, regarding the Options
for the Discussion Form Handler and the Form Fields it
says, "Enter the names of one or more form elements,
separated by spaces." It then shows a picture of the
dialog box with "Subject From" for the Form fields, and
then in the article submission page there are forms with
these titles. This is what I would like mine to be like,
but it seems like in your post you are telling me this
isn't possible?? If you would please clarify why I can't
do this or what I would need to do I would really
appreciate it.

Ok, then you will need to wait until Jim Buyens replies, since he wrote
that.

The Send to Other option is normally used when processing a form input via
ASP, CGI, etc. and bypasses the FP extensions. FP Discussion Web requires
the FP extensions to function correctly.

Disregard my reply. Jim is correct.

Anna,

How are you creating your Discussion Web?

When you create a discussion web using File Menu | New | Web | Discussion
Web, the following default fields are available:

Subject
From
Comments

I used the Discussion Web Wizard and the choices for the
submission form were:
-Subject, Comments
-Subject, Category, Comments
-Subject, Product, Comments
I chose Subject, Comments, but now I would also like to
add another form for "From" if that's possible. If not,
is it possible for me to go back and choose like the
Subject, Product, Comments, and change Product to say
From?? Thanks for all your help.

I would start over and select the defaults, then you delete the fields you
don't want.
