I have created a Discussion Page sub-web, and there are
of course 7 web pages created. Where am I supposed to put
these on the navigation page - all seven under the home
page horizontally, or is there a hierarchy between them.

Depend on how you created the DW
If you selected to have a home page just link to it
or the welcome page (...welc.htm)
