Hi there,

I am looking for help, specifically with printing. I have completed some
diagrams and upon review they look good, but they print with objects shifted
slightly, or words missing from text boxes (hidden). The errors appear in
PrintPreview, but not on the actually screen. What could be causing this
discrepancy?

Additionally, exporting to Adobe PDF (once the diagram is printing
correctly) cause similar errors, movement of boxes or cause line widths to be
modified. Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Just some guesses;

First, I've had problems withe different print drivers causing these types
of problems. Certainly make sure you are using the best drivers available for
your printer, but I've found that even then, print drivers are not always
perfect. I've had problems when using 6pt font, etc... but at least eliminate
it as a possible cause.

I'd also look at your page setup. For example, if you have your document
margins set at .2 but the printer driver (including potentially the pdf
driver) have a minimum of .25, that could also cause problems. If you have
images or shapes of any kind that overlap those margins (even if the overlap
area is not colored) I'd test by putting them in a more central location on
the page to see if they are still shifting.

Given the variety of problems you are reporting (line widths, etc) I'm
inclined to suspect printer drivers, but another idea is to test printing on
a different computer that has a different printer (and has all up-to-date
printer drivers). Also consider trying a generic print driver (like HPIII) on
your existing printer, just to see what happens.

Best of luck,
Keith
