I have a problem. I sometimes forget to turn off my dialup connection after
I leave the computer tying up the phone line. I would like to know if there
is a setting in XP to have my connection disconnect at a given time or for a
period of inactivity at the keyboard. Failing this I would appreciate
anyone knowledgeable in DOS commands to point me to where I could find a
command line command to disconnect the modem from phone line.

Thanks & Happy Holidays!

Look here:

In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.
Highlight the connection and click Settings.
In Dial-up Settings click Advanced and check the box next to
"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".

"Disconnect if idle for ... mins"

OK Folks! I now can disconnect from the internet and free the phone line
so others can use the line.
Thanks!
Nikki
