Disck clean up

I can not perfom a disk clean up. It starts and then it
doesnt do anything. All it says is compress old files
under where it says what the process is doing. It gets
like 1/8 of the way complete and just stops right there
and does nothing. What do i do?

Try the following web sites for troubleshooting suggestions:

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
(Note: Disable your antivirus program before running the repair script)

I had this once under Win 98. I tried to fix it for weeks without success,
until I upgraded the operating system to XP. May just be a bad disk.
