Disc Cleanup

I have windows XP, when I run "Disc Cleanup" should I
make sure that all of the boxes are checked? The reason I
ask is that they were not all checked the first time I
ran it, I have a new computer, I then checked them all ,
it took forever to run it after I did that, before I did
that it only took like 30 seconds, also after
running "Disc Cleanup" with all of the boxes checked I
had to defragment the hard drive, and that took a very
long time since it was so very fragmented, almost all
red. This had to have something to do with the "Disc
Cleanup" thing right? If anybody knows the answer to this
I would greatly appreciate it.

All red is not a usual report, its stateing mostly fragmented, try going to run
type:cmd in cmd type:CHKDSK C: /R Agree to restart,then type:EXI
Restart computer,usually its:CHKDSK C: /F But with all that,i'd do a repair
/F is for fix.
