any idea why my disc cleanup won't run?
This is what i do... Go to the system tools and click on
disc cleanup. The first screen comes up and says to clean
up C drive. Click ok then it goes to a screen that says
calculating, there are 4 blue bars in the box below this
and it stays here forever.
then when i go to the task manager and look under
performance it shows 100%cpu usage and it hits that as
soon as i start to run the cleanup.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
matt

Perhaps you have a ton of stuff it is trying to delete or maybe some corrupt
data somewhere.

I would go through the manual process first and then try running disk
cleanup again. maybe something is just stuck or in use.

Go to Start\Run and type in Temp and press OK. Try to delete all this stuff.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools\Internet Options
Deleted Cookies
Delete "Files"
Delete Histroy.

Wait.

Go to Start\Run. Type in . <---- A period
Press OK. Typing in a period in run and pressing OK will take you to the
root of your logged in profile.
Open the Local Settings folder.
Delete the contents of Temp and Temporary Internet Files.

Empty the Recycle Bin and after everything is gone try to run Disk Cleanup.

You can also get to Disk Clenaup by going to Start\Run and typing in
Cleanmgr
