disc clean

The files can be removed, but frees up very little amount of disk space.
Personally, I keep the log files in case I need to troubleshooting something
in future.

The following files (Note: wildcards used) are deleted when you cleanup
"Setup Log Files" using Disk Cleanup.

setup*.log
setup*.old
setuplog.txt
winnt32.log

Thank you. I mistakenly posted no to "did this answer help?", and then
changed it to yes. A charitable geek tuned up my desktop and removed those
files. This is not the same computer. I never questioned it because he
introduced me to avast and made things work and work faster.

I don't fully understand where to access the setup log files. I don't know
the "run" command and cannot find them on my computer. Do I search all files
or what?
Thanks again. ed

The log files are in the Windows folder. To open the setuplog.txt, click
Start/Run and type:

C:\Windows\setuplog.txt

To access the "run" command, press the "start" button in the lower left hand
corner of the screen. A box will appear for you to enter the name of a
program that you wish to execute.
