disc access error

I am running XP-pro, with a base drive and 2 A/V drives. Each A/V drive has
2 partitions.
Today one of my A/V drives is not able to be accessed. I get two messages:

D: is not acccessable, the parameter is incorrect or I/O access error

The file has a blank under "file type" in disc manager (rather than NTFS)
though it says it is healthy and active, it also says it is empty, which it
is not.

Any one seen this before? have any ideas to try to fix it?

Have you changed disk drives recently? You could experience something very
similar to this if the jumpers are not set correctly.

Kind Regards,
