disappearing windows

IE seems to operate just fine until given certain url's
and then the whole window will just shut
down. The window completely disappears taking with
it all of the previous information that I have
gathered. I can tell that it will start to load and
then just disappear. It seems to be associated with
the same url's every time. My daughter thought that
it could have something to do with blocking pop ups.
I am truly baffled because I never know when the pages
that I am working with will just disappear.

Try this:

tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM - only tick the JIT compiler
box and leave the Java boxes unticked (default)
when running Win 95 IE 5.5, else the browser window closes.
Same thing for IE 6, confirmed.
