Disappearing window

Can anybody tell me why an opened window suddenly pops
away within a few seconds of being open, and I'm back to
the desktop? Its like I hit the X with my mouse, yet
didn't. This happens in the command prompt screen too. Any
ideas?

If you open task manager does it do the same thing?
What windows are you opening when this happens?
More information would be very much appreciated.

It does it when I open command prompt, and when I try to
setup my anti-virus program (AVG anti-virus). I cannot
setup the program because it always disappears, nor can I
check my ipconfig in the command prompt either for the
same reason. If you can help me it would be MOST
appreciated.
