disappearing toolbar

The toolbar at the top of each folder window in "my
computer" has disappeared. It's still there in Windows
Explorer, but I can't figure out how to get it back in My
Computer. Ideas welcome.

There's no "view menu" available. That entire line has
disappeared. Right-clicking doesn't bring up any options
for toolbars, because you have to right-click on that
toolbar area to get the options.
 
The toolbar in Explore is there. When I click "My
Computer" I can't get any toolbar...there's no toolbar at
all, hence no "View" option to turn toolbars on.

Any ideas?

If you are not in full screen mode (F11) run the edit.

I just noticed that the toolbar in the Control
Panel/Fonts window also isn't there...making it
impossible to add fonts.

I discovered, by accident, that F11 + Restore Down
brought the toolbars back. But I also found it's only
temporary. I must do it each time I open it. Can't find a
way to make it stick.
