Greetings XP wizzos

If I select 'Run' and then execute a command line (e.g. ipconfig etc) the
command executes but the window disappears before I can see it. Ideas?

Many thanks

These commands are meant to be run from a command prompt session. To
start a command session type cmd and press enter. If you want to run
these commands from the run box and keep the cmd window open you have to
preceed the command with cmd /k , for example:

cmd /k ipconfig

No you don't. The /k is not needed. You have to be in command mode. A simple
cmd followed by OK or enter key is all thats needed.

You need the /K option: cmd /k ipconfig

Or open a command prompt with cmd alone, and then type the command in
the command prompt.

Once again you have proven to all here that you cannot read or
comprehend what you read. Reread my reply and assemble the words and
sentences together and maybe then you will be able to learn something.
To issue a command with the command processor from the run box and have
the command processor window remain open you simply proceed the command
that you want to run with cmd /k, as:

cmd /k ipconfig

If you had tried the command before replying you would have found out
about cmd /k and its uses, but instead, as usual, you misread everything
and posted another one of you dumb comments. Furthermore, in my post I
did tell the OP that to open a command session he simply had to enter
cmd in the run box, I told him that in my second sentence. Do you have
anything else to add to your post or do you want to start another one of
your stupid arguments?

If you have something useful and constructive to post then by all means
please do post, I will be more than happy to learn something new or to
be steered in the right direction when I err. If all you have to offer
are silly replies like the one you posted here then may I suggest that
your read the posts twice while you sit on your fingers!

Who are you trying to impress?

Instead of saying "oops" and acknowledging your error and moving on you
once again try to steer the conversation away from your mistakes. You
simply have a problem in accepting the truth and admitting your errors.

John

Good grief! You described yourself to a T.
