disappearing network shares

I am currently doing some consulting work for a small
company and have encountered a problem with disappearing
network shares on all the xp computers in the network.
Also there are 98's amd ME's but they seem to not be
affected by this problem. Anyone know of an RFC or technet
article addressing this problem??
 
sounds like master browser issue. use browstat.exe to check the browser
status.
