disappearing images in IE

IE has a very strange behaviour where background images sometimes disappears
from sight. These items (like buttons) are still actually there, and if you
highlight everything on screen or hit refresh they'll often re-appear. Kind
of strange, huh?

Is there any valid explanation for this behaviour of IE?

Hi Harshal :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, but, try updating your video
driver and see if that helps:

How To Update Video Driver

If you don't know the location of your Video driver, or how to find it:
Location for XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314854
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/games/learnmore/updatingdrivers.mspx
or......
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314854
Find the information on your video driver. Then go to the website for mfg.
of the video driver and look for the update to download and install. There
may also be a Update Driver button on the dialog box you can use to go
direct to the update download site.

Cannot view barckgrounds in webpages

Go to>Internet Options>Accessibility button. There is an option there to
disregard colors specified by Web pages. Make sure it is unchecked.

For normal viewing, nothing in this area should be checiked.

also........

Try reducing hardware acceleration:
Right click on the Desktop on an open area,
Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot
Move the slider back to the left a little and test to see if that helps.
Try it at increments until you get all the way to the left end to see if
that helps.

Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Turn off your ISP's Dialup accelerator, if you have one. It works by
reducing image size
(and therefor quality) for downloads.

Update your scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

Re-registering the DLLs listed in this article may help:

Hope this helps.

Hi Jsn,

Thanks a lot.

This happened on a Windows XP machine with IE 6.0.

I will try doing the things you mentioned.

Thank again. :-)

Depends - does this happen every site or just one 'special'? - has it always
happened, or did it just start?

Your description brings to mind the Peekaboo-bug, which also often 'resets'
when you highlight portions of the site, or refresh...

This does not explain those 'buttons' you mention, but without a more
detailed explanation, I wouldn't rule it out that this is what you are
experiencing

Hi Harshal :-)

Here is something you might try if the other suggestions don't help:.
