Disappearing Emails

It seems that we have a user using Outlook 2003 BCM and his emails are
disappearing randomly. They enter his inbox but then disappear days later.
for example he is missing emails from
17/11/2006,20/11/2006,23/11/2006,24/11/2006 but he has emails from
21/11/2006,22/11/2006,25/11/2006,26/11/2006. So there is really no pattern
here. Can anybody please tell me why this woul be happening, I've checked the
archive and for another .pst file but everything there is okay

Automatic archiving? Spam filter gone insane?

Is Exchange server involved? Is POP3 service enabled on the Exchange server?
Is POP3 involved in any way? Are there multiple devices?

BCM doesn't interfere with email.
