Hello,

I have a client who is running WIN2K pro, sp3. This
computer seems to dropped some of its mapped drives every
so often. There is no pattern to this. The computer can
go a week fine with all the drives present.

Each user has a logon script that runs as they login. No
other user has an issue.

I have replace the Nic card 3 times, Patch cables, changed
the port on the Switch. even tested for EMI with a cable
tester.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

A reboot usually fixes this PC for a couple of days.

Thanks
..

I have been battling a very similar problem. I am not sure
if I have overcome it, yet. I believe that I have an
application that misbehaves and opens up a mass of files
on the server. The server then runs out of memory and
refuses to share the network drives and folders until it
is rebooted.

I believe that my application that is causing my problem
is a badly installed version of Paperport 9. I have
reinstalled Paperport and applied service packs for that
product. I am cautiously optimistic.

I suggest that you watch the shared open files on the
server to see if you can detect a problem. It might give
you an idea of which application is causing the problem.

I would be very interested to know you results and stay in
touch since the problem is still of concern to me.

Charles.
