Greetings,
W2K Server environment with W2K workstations and two XP laptops on domain.
Nothing really set up in group plicy except for My Documents Redirection. Of
the two laptop, one stays on network and the other leaves network form time
to time but alsways logs on to cached network when away. User profile is
stored on local machine.
On the XP machine, downloads disappear. if dowloaded to desktop, they show
for asecond after download is complete, then they are gone. If downloaded
anywhere else on machine, they are gone. This is happening with logged back
onto domain. haven;t checked it if it's happening when cached logon is in
effect.
I have never had to restrict townload access on any domain I have worked
with. I know it's possible. But I know that the only thing not out of the
box ablut this domain is the my Documents redirection.
All other computers can download files as expected. Full virus protection
on all computers and Windows Defenter/AntiSpyware also present on XP machines.
If this is not the right place for this, I apoligize. Please redirect me or
help me with a few things to check on this computer.
BTW, if I create a new user logon for this laptop that has the problem,
downloads are still "disabled." but I don't see anything special on the
local machine as far as group policies go.
Thanks
