Hello,

I currently have a problem which seems to be affecting
windoes 2000 server. Here is what is happening.

From any machine on the network some servers cannot be
seen through entire network. Even though you can ping
them and access them through the run command. As time
goes on more and more servers seem to be disappearing on
the network even tho you can see the computer account on
AD.

Thanks for any help in advance!!! :)

Sounds like either your pdc (domain master browser) or one of your segment
master browsers is multihomed. Since the dc would know about everybody on
each card you can see them there, but it doesn't know if segment A knows how
to get to segment B, so if you're on seg A and request a browse list it will
only return those on A and not B. Same thing happens on segment master
browsers. While the pdc will Always be the domain master browser, each
segment will also have a segment master browser, which the pdc may or may
not be for the segment it's on as well. You can give any single homed
machine you want an election boost to take the segment role with the
registry value isdomainmaster (the value is misleading because is says
domain but is really sgement) in hklm/system/ccs/services/browser/parameters
