I was modifying my HOSTS file when I got the warning from MSAS. I clicked
on Allow but did so without unchecking "Remember this action".

I am afraid that now anything can modify HOSTS without my knowing.

Is there a way to get MSAS to warn me again if HOSTS is being updated?

I don't think so. I believe you'd need to shutdown a specific checkpoint to
have that effect.

The allow/block actions with regard to hosts file entries affect the
specific line only--the effect of block is to put a comment character in
front of the line.

Test it by trying another modification.

Thank you Bill. You are correct.

The system posted a warning on a subsequent edit of the HOSTS file.

Your original question partly underlines the ambiguity of the phrasing used
in this system tool--I think it is downright confusing, and have said so to
the developers.

I hope that it will be better worded in beta2.
