Hello,

by default when opening up a search window in Windows Explorer of XP Pro
in the lower left part you can find a little useless dog. Each user can
disable it by rightclicking and choosing "Turn off the animated
character", but is there a way to centrally make it disappear for all
users? I have had a look at gpedit.msc, but couldn't find anything
appropriate.

Kind regards,
Gunde

Hi,

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant]
Set "SocialUI" to 0 (REG_DWORD)

Perhaps you can create a .REG file and distribute the settings.

Not very "Pro" is it? :) It's actually there even in the VLK versions.
