Does any one know how to disable master broswer election performed via an Xp
client through the use of a GPO? Is ther an .ADM policy? Did I overlook a
built in setting? or do I create one from scratch, and if so how? I've got
W2k servers being bombarded every hour by XP clients wanting to be the master
broser. I know I could apply a .reg file through a batch script but theres
got to be a better way. besides I dont wan to maintain a .reg bat script. :-)>
I also recently went native mode and only have XP (and a hand full of
2000pro) clients, can I uninstall the WINS service now?
Thanks!

I know that on a Win2K3 server, you can configure services at Computer
Config | Windows Settings | Security Settings | System Services, but I'm not
sure if that's there in Win2k or not.

If you know the registry key, you can create a custom ADM file. If you look
at one of the ADM files in c:\winnt\inf, you should be able to figure out
how the syntax works. If you need more help with that, let us know.
