Disabling Simple File Sharing

I am trying to figure out how to disable simple file
sharing for the default profile. Thanks Tony

View tab | under Advanced settings | Scroll down to:
Use simple file sharing [Recommended].

[[Specifies that simplified sharing is enabled. Simplified sharing lets you
share folders with everyone on your workgroup or network and make folders in
your user profile private. However, if simplified sharing is enabled, you
cannot prevent specific users and groups from accessing your shared folders.
Clear this check box if you want to set folder permissions for specific
users and groups.]]

I have already turned it off that way, but it still is

active for all of the rest of the users in the domain that
would log into the computer.

I think I am going to have to go deeper into the problem.
I am setting up a computer that is on a domain. we have
many people loging in. i create a new user(the new user
has administrative settings), and adjust the settings on
that new user that i want the default settings for
everyone that logs in, including disabling simple file
sharing. once that is done, I restart log in as the local
admin, and copy the new profile over to the default user.

It copies over everything i need excpt the simple file
sharing being disabled.

the only way that i have found that it works is if i give
each user administrative settings, uncheck that use simple
file sharing box, and take the administrative settings
off..

please ask.

The simple file sharing registry value (forceguest) is a Machine
setting (C:\WINDOWS\System32\config\system) not a per-user
settings (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\ntuser.dat).
As such copying "the new profile over to the default user" is not
going to work.

You can disable Simple File Sharing by modifying the forceguest
registry value from the default of 1 (Simple File Sharing
Enabled), to 0 (Simple File Sharing Disabled).

Specifically, the forceguest value is found in the following
registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Since it appears that you are in a domain setting I will suggest
that you post to the Active Directory group if you need some
assistance distributing the registry change.

I have tryed the forceguest, switching the default of 1 to
0 and it still didn't work. Anything else you can think of
i'm game. i am going to try and put this in the active
directory one to see if someone knows if it is a setting
that i can change on AD. Also, we are using a 2kserver
for AD if that makes any difference.
